Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Loop BCD (“Loop BCD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) runs loopbcd.com (the “Site”), a culture and events directory for Metro Bacolod. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.

We handle personal information in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) of the Philippines.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Where we rely on your consent, we will ask for it.

1. Who we are

The Site is operated by [Operator legal name], [business address], Philippines.

For privacy questions or requests, contact our Data Protection Officer:

  • Email: [privacy contact email]
  • Mailing address: [mailing address]

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

Account information. When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form, and we cannot see them.

Listing submissions. When you submit a Creative, Locale, Event, or Firestarter listing, we collect what you enter. This can include:

  • names, descriptions, categories, and tags
  • photos, logos, videos, and captions
  • member names, photos, and positions (for groups and bands)
  • addresses, map links, city, and location details
  • event dates, times, prices, and venues
  • social media links and website addresses
  • a point of contact (name, phone number, and email address)
  • whether you want a Menu tab, and whether you are interested in a custom-designed page or website

Most of what you put in a listing is published publicly on the Site once approved, including any point-of-contact details you choose to provide. Please only include information you are comfortable making public, and only include other people’s names or photos (such as band members) if you have their permission.

Inquiries. When you send an inquiry to a listing through the Site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and message. We store the inquiry and share it with the owner of that listing so they can respond to you.

Reviews and comments. When you post a review or comment, we collect your name, email address, the review text, and any rating you give. Your name, review, and rating are shown publicly. Your email address is not.

Firestarter responses. When you “raise your hand” on a Firestarter project, we record your interest and link it to your account so the project owner can see who responded.

Messages to us. If you email us or message our social media pages (for example, to send a menu or ask about a custom page), we collect the information you send.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Usage and device data. When you visit the Site, our systems and service providers automatically collect technical information. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring pages, and the date and time of your visit.

Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 6.

2.3 Information from others

Another user may include information about you in a listing (for example, naming you as a band member), or a listing owner may reply to your inquiry. If you believe information about you was posted without your permission, contact us (Section 1).

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  1. Run the directory: create and manage accounts, review and publish listings, and display listings, reviews, and events.
  2. Connect people: deliver inquiries to listing owners and show Firestarter responses to project owners.
  3. Communicate with you: respond to messages, send notices about your account or submissions, and follow up on requests for custom pages or website quotations you opted into.
  4. Keep the Site safe: prevent spam, fraud, and abuse (including through reCAPTCHA), moderate content, and enforce our Terms of Use.
  5. Improve the Site: understand how visitors use the Site through aggregated analytics.
  6. Promote listings: share approved listings on Loop BCD’s own social media channels.
  7. Meet legal obligations: comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under the Data Privacy Act, we process personal information on these grounds:

  • Consent. For example, when you submit a listing for publication, opt into being contacted about a custom-designed page, or post a public review. You can withdraw consent at any time (Section 8), though this does not affect processing already done.
  • Contract. To provide the account and directory services you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests. To secure the Site, prevent spam and abuse, and understand and improve how it is used, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation. Where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

5. How we share your information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Publicly on the Site. Approved listing content, public point-of-contact details, reviewer names, reviews, and ratings are visible to anyone.
  • With other users. Inquiries go to the relevant listing owner, and Firestarter responses go to the project owner.
  • With service providers who help us run the Site, under obligations to protect your information:
    • web hosting and email delivery providers
    • Cloudflare and other content delivery networks, for performance and security
    • Google Analytics, for aggregated usage statistics
    • Google reCAPTCHA, for spam protection on forms
    • embedded content from YouTube, Vimeo, and Google Maps, when a listing includes a video or map (these services may collect data when you view the embed)
    • search engines through IndexNow, which receive the addresses of new public pages (not personal information about visitors)
  • For legal reasons. When required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Loop BCD, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. If Loop BCD is merged, sold, or transferred, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Some service providers may process information outside the Philippines. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives protection comparable to that required under Philippine law.
